Elizabeth Food Bank
At the Elizabeth Food Bank, families in need will find food,
donated and freely given by the people of Elizabeth Presbyterian
Church, as well as several other churches, community
organizations and caring people who wish to share the love and
compassion of Jesus Christ.
Families in need can come to the Food Bank as many as five times
a year, and receive:
Canned Vegetables
Frozen meats, breads and desserts
Canned tuna, salmon, beef stew and chicken
Hot and cold cereals and pancake or muffin mixes
Pantry items like flour, sugar, vegetable oil, boxed dinners, spaghetti and tomato sauce,
peanut butter and various condiments
Household supplies like toilet paper and laundry soap
The need keeps on growing. In 2009, 396 families sought
help at our Food Bank - for a total of 1125 individuals!
In 2010, we served more families than that, and in 2011, we're
continuing to serve more.
Last year, the Elizabeth Food Bank gave out 95 Thanksgiving
baskets - complete with a turkey and all the fixings!
You can help the Food Bank meet these needs by donating any of
the food or other items listed above. Or you can volunteer
to help out at the Food Bank during open hours from 12:30 to
3:00 p.m. on Fridays and from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
Or you can help stock the shelves during off hours.
