This week’s scripture passages include: Isaiah 60:1-6, Matthew 2:1-12
In our Christian history, Epiphany has been celebrated just after Christmas, specifically, January 6th, or, for us Protestants, the Sunday closest to January 6th. Epiphanies (and there are more than one in the general sense – indeed lots of epiphanies) are those times when Christ has broken into the world to make His saving, glorifying presence known to us. Yes, it is exciting when God breaks through our reserves in big and glorious ways. But, God also breaks through our reserves in our every day. And that is exciting too. Christ has broken into the world, he has entered into our lives and into our hearts. And he is with us everyday.
