Peter and Paul, despite doing terrible things to Christ, were not only forgiven but were empowered as the two greatest evangelists and church leaders post resurrection. It doesn’t matter what we have done; Christ has already forgiven, and can empower us, regardless of where we are in life. No such thing as disqualification!
