Pentecost Sunday

In this terrifyingly vivid story, Ezekiel reminds us of the gracious gift of life-giving Spirit which is ours by God’s grace. 

And this grace is really given to us when we simply admit that God is God. So pairing Ezekiel's vision and the giving of the Holy Spirit to the church at Pentecost makes sense.

• * There is nothing normal about dry bones living again. 
• * There is nothing normal with Jesus rising, literally, from the dead. 
• * There is nothing normal about the Holy Spirit raining down on them like tongues of fire. 
• * There is nothing normal about ordinary human beings being put in charge of the church for the God who created the Universe.

God is not in the business of normal. 

God is in the business of the Holy Spirit. Giving life to the People of God.
